Suncredit Energy reports the ground-breaking news that it has initiated onsite construction of its 20 MW Hele Manor reserve power plant site located in Taunton in Somerset. Gas connection works completed by Centrica Engie means the project is on target to be completed by the end of August 2019; ahead of schedule and with sufficient time for testing and commissioning ahead of the next high demand winter season.
Centrica started working on site at the beginning of January and has already set-up the site compound, erected temporary fencing, installed CCTV cameras, and has also started the civil works. Centrica confirmed they started site activities ahead of schedule to compensate for any lost days to inevitable adverse weather conditions.
With a total Capex of £12.5m Hele Manor represents Suncredit Energy’s second project scheduled to be in operation this year, giving the company a total of 24 MW of reserve power plants for grid balancing. Behind this, the company plans to initiate construction of 8 more sites this year, representing a total of over 160 MW in operation next year.
