Suncredit are very pleased to announce that the Ingles Hill Solar Farm has successfully passed all safety checks required by the electrical Distribution Network Operator in order to connect to the local grid and is now operational. The 2.5MW solar farm site at Ingles Hill farm, Burton Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch was awarded planning consent in September 2015 and was built during spring 2016 in time for connection on the 21st April 2016. Now that it is up and running, the solar farm will generate enough electricity to power approximately 750 homes (based on average annual consumption figures from Ofgem) and will generate clean energy for a 25 year period as set out in the planning consent. The power will be fed directly into the existing electricity network for use in the local area. At the end of its lifespan, the project will be fully decommissioned and the land restored to its former condition.
Construction of the Ingles Hill Solar Farm was overseen by Solarplicity, who will assume responsibility or the operation and maintenance of this site going forwards. For further information about Solarplicity, please visit http://www.solarplicity.com
